Golf Cart Rental Information
Street-Legal, Family-Friendly, and Florida Compliant
At Tidal Wave Golf Cart Rentals, safety and comfort come standard. All of our carts are street-legal Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs), fully equipped with seatbelts, headlights, mirrors, and turn signals—so you're ready to cruise Amelia Island safely and legally.
Here’s what you need to know before hitting the road:
Florida LSV Rules at a Glance:
- LSVs can only be driven on roads with a posted speed limit of 35 MPH or less
- Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and be 25 years or older (age is our insurance carrier's requirement)
- Seatbelts are required for all passengers while the vehicle is moving
- Golf carts may not be driven on sidewalks, beaches, or unpaved roads
- Only authorized drivers listed on your rental agreement may operate the vehicle
- And remember — all normal traffic laws apply. That means stopping at stop signs, obeying signals, and driving responsibly, just like you would in a car.
Traveling with Kids? Bring the Car Seat
If your child uses a car seat in your vehicle, they’ll need one in the golf cart too—it’s the law in Florida. Our carts have seatbelts that accommodate most standard car seats.
Please bring your own child seat, as we do not provide them with rentals.
Prohibited Uses (A Quick Heads-Up)
To keep everyone safe, our carts cannot be used:
- On sidewalks, unpaved roads, or beaches
- By anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- For racing or off-road activities
- Without all passengers wearing seatbelts
